Here's our weekly round-up from all three peaks of the business, who's been doing what, where and when over the last 7 days in the world of strategy, marketing and community.

Our client National Home Decarbonisation Group (NHDG) held their annual Parliamentary Day on Wednesday evening of this week. An opportunity for their members to talk policy in the retrofit industry with key members of the Careers at the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero. Sarah Clemson and Sarah James we’re invited to attend the reception at the House of Lords and listen to speeches from chairman Derek Horrocks and Lord Best on the subject of Net Zero.

Tech Talks

Kerrie Walton (Medlicott) attended pro-manchester‘s Women Leading Tech & Innovation: Breaking Barriers and Paving the Way event and met with Niamh Allen CMgr MCMI from Sustainable Smart Technologies Ltdwho was on the panel discussing shared business journeys, tackling the challenges of the funding landscape, and exploring how to create meaningful change to bring more women into the sector..

Andy Schofield attended the Rossendale Tech round table hosted by Rossendale Digital to help shape the future of technology businesses and investment in the valley.

Shaping the future

Jennie Henderson joined fellow business leaders in interviewing some brilliant year 11 students at Ss John Fisher and Thomas More Roman Catholic High School we are big supporters in inspiring the next generation and helping schools and colleges when we can. Jennie was joined by fellow YAB – Your Affordable Board members Emma Woan Antoinette Perry and Jonathan Sharp.

Getting Judgey

SUMMIT are once again sponsors and supporters of the Made in Manchester Awards hosted by pro-manchester. Andy Schofield spent Monday morning judging two categories for Marketing, Advertising or Creative Professional of the Year & Business Owner / Entrepreneur of the Year. The winners will be announced at the awards evening in February.

Keen runner Sean Pickles took time out from running the studio to take part in his first ever Drop Race. After being dropped 10 miles away from Kendal with no map, phone, compass or help, Sean and his team hmanaged to orientate their way back to the Kendal finish line. They estimate they ran 19 miles on their journey back to base.

Christmas Parties

This has been the week of Christmas Parties as our YAB – Your Affordable Board groups come together to celebrate. Kerrie Walton (Medlicott) Manchester YAB groups got together at Chaos Karts for a bit of competitive fun. Kerrie Walton (Medlicott) somehow got the fastest lap and the best accuracy for hitting others with Mario style boosts but still came last. Digital Dan, our fractional digital expert, Dan Elson celebrated coming second. Chris Ball brought his Rawtenstall and Burnley group together for a packed house at the Hapton Inn – culminating in 20 members staying behind for a Solopreneur’s Christmas Lunch. Our Chorley, Lancaster and Tarlton groups will be doing the same next week led by Keith McMurtrie and Andy Henderson.

Studio focus

Each week we’ll feature work created by the studio – Home Hero is the consumer brand of Sustainable Building Services (UK) Ltd – the campaign focuses on delivering energy efficient homes across 4 areas of the country. SUMMIT created the brand for the campaign, the website, the character and the look and feel of the literature as well as the messaging. Several of the studio members are involved in the project, supported by Dan Elson who is running the SEO, PPC and online advertising for the brand.
