Here's our weekly round-up from all three peaks of the business, who's been doing what, where and when over the last 7 days in the world of strategy, marketing and community.
A busy few days in Manchester saw Sarah Clemson, invited by pro-manchester, present at their ‘25 Things to Instigate for Marketing Success in 2025‘ event, talking about a favourite subject of ours ‘Why Community in Business Really Matters.’ Next up was Brabners Building Links event, an invited network of construction and property professionals. With vast experience in property marketing from her time running a property focussed agency in Manchester, Sarah was right at home.
Andy Schofield and Andy Henderson led the first YAB – Your Affordable Board event at Blackburn College (UK) aimed at developing student’s understanding of business and helping improve their communication and collaboration skills. Working with the Year 1 and 2 UAL Graphic Design students – they delivered a two hour YABDUCATION session encouraging them to work together to problem solve real business issues through a series of scenarios. This innovative format was really well received and SUMMIT will look to deliver further sessions in the new year. If you think we could deliver a YABDUCATION session at your sixth form centre or college please get in touch with Andy Schofield.
Friday saw Chris Ball take the stage at SUMMIT sponsored East Lancashire Chamber of Commerce‘s Curry Club hosted by Blackburn Rovers Football Club. This seasonal special saw Chris lead everyone in a festive quiz before Dave Scholes of Six Connections and Debra Cartlidge of the Deaf Village shared their festive thoughts.
SUMMIT are excited to be working alongside IMT Consulting and AUT-AI after being appointed by Green Britain Group‘s Carbon Bank to prepare the investment case for UK Biochar – supporting the conversion of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere to carbon safely stored in soils – improving their growing capability and supporting landscapes to manage storm events. We’ll be taking an innovative approach to this project by blending pure enthusiasm, creativity, AI research and analysis tools with investor pitch deck convention to approach the challenge of securing new investment in the UK carbon reduction sector. SUMMIT will be supporting the project through their knowledge of pitch deck creation and infographic design. This work will further strengthen SUMMIT’s growing portfolio of sustainability and ESG focussed businesses.
Rich Reccomends!
Each week we’ll be asking Richard Brady, expert in all things design, in the SUMMIT Studio – what to read, watch, play or to listen to. This week he recommends WipEout Futurism: The Graphic Archives a graphical look back to the classic, ground-breaking video game WipEout and the studio that created the graphics behind it, the legendary agency Designer’s Republic.
